There looks to be a big makeover going on at the former Vojo's this morning

We were always put off of going into this restaurant - simply because it seemed to look a bit tatty and just an area in front of the hotel as opposed to a restaurant.  Hopefully the makeover will make it more enticing.  (I know loads of restaurants are in front of hotels but some look better than others).

I agree, we thought it looked a bit scruffy, having said that we will give the food a try when we come across in May :D

Had some great nights in Vojo's and have to say, it never looked tatty to us.  Great food and really good staff.
The new place being built is not Vojo's.   They have moved.   We wait to see who will open there.

They are looking for new premises, and hoping to be up and running again soon.

Vojo's was voted Best Calis Bar or Restaurant in 2014 by CBF.

I think if there was anything at all to vaguely back up the claim that it was 'tatty' it would be that when it went 'outdoors' for summer season it left the indoors a bit sparse - but still not tatty. I know from very close friends who have had businesses in the area that you can do what ever you like to the premises to make it look fancier - but the owner/landlord won't, and won't contribute to your improvement costs even if he ultimately takes ownership of them once the renters moved on.

It must be incredibly tough to want to improve things but know you have to pay for *everything* even though it's not your property.

I think they did exceptionally well in making it a food quality/staff friendliness sort of place rather than something out of an interior design magazine. And as mentioned, they won the CBF vote so they must be doing something right.
