Why it pays to be a pedant.
« on: March 03, 2015, 15:48:44 PM »
I've just read an article in the Daily Mail, the content of which i won't bore you with. Here's a link to it.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2976731/Let-s-shyster-shiner-says-RICHARD-LITTLEJOHN.html

What struck me was a comment by a reader from Manchester. By just making a one letter error in the comment it turned it into, for me, a comedy sketch.

Where was Mr Shiner when our brave troops were facing snipers and IUD's?

Probably sitting safe in his office like many of us were.   :) But that's not the point Colwyn, as Richard Littlejohn didn't make the comment.

I know, but I made the mistake of looking at the article (but not for long). Anyway I thought I'd try to divert the wrath of the interneterati: you know how they rage against people bringing attention to mistakes in spelling, grammar or punctuation. The Pope was wrong about getting a punch if you insult someone's mother; you get it if you mention their English language skills.

There's where you and I differ Colwyn old friend. I couldn't give a flying **ck about the interneterati and whether or not they have nothing better to do than get into a rage about something that amuses ME.    ;)
