The sun is shining , Animal Aid quiz tonight   - shine up that trophy Andy we are back tonight : - and best of all the council has started to re-lay the road that was torn up when they concreted the canals.  Well when i say that they have started I mean at this end on the canal running down to the Hotel Pelin.  Not sure about the really bad stretch down by the upside down bridge... but let's hope they move onto there when they have finished by us.     Yippppeeeeee (don't take much to make me happy)

Oooh, that makes us happy too, thought they had given up on the roads. So glad the weather is improving, we are over next week, hope it continues.

The roads on the sides of the canals have been laid with the base noggin, and awaits the top coat of tar oil from the oil lorry and tipper lorries laden with the top stones, and of course the man with the whistle to orchestrate the laying of the oil and stones.

No work on the roads on the side of the upside down bridge canal, although it could be that at least one side (south side) will be laid with block paving to match in with the roads coming down from the BBM.  What will happen on the other side is probably relaying of the old oil and stone road base.

No progress whatever at the back of the prom, behind Nil Bar / Bambu down to the back of the Mutlu Hotel.

They will probably wait until the season starts and is full of tourists before starting this area

Glad to see that this road is looking much better, it was in a right state last year, we had to dodge the pot holes every day when we drove along it.

Hold your horses and don't get to excited about the road along by Pelin Hotel.We live along there and my wife asked the workers what they are doing to the road as we to thought it was the start of something special,but no just putting that stone top on it as the road was really bad,some pot holes were so deep you needed rope to pass them.So know we have a slightly smooth rd but the dust is bloody everywhere again.

Two steps forward - smoother temporary road and no potholes - and one step back ..... dust!!  But the biggest issue comes when they have finished the road.... tar pools and splashes up the car requiring a 'diesel wash' ...... doh!!

Any further news on the roads by the canals? I'll be out soon, but would love to know they'd done something over the last couple of months!  Wishful thinking, probably! My place is near the old upside down bridge.  Thanks for any news...
