Fethiye Carnival Parade tomorrow 14 May
« on: May 13, 2015, 21:05:34 PM »
You may have seen on the Fethiye page that the 8th Fethiye Festival starts tomorrow and runs until 17 May. This Festival which includes the International Music Festival kicks off tomorrow with a Carnival parade in Fethiye Town.

Floats, groups, organisations and bands will be assembling at 3.00 along the canal near to the Tuesday market and the procession is due to set off at 4.00 pm. The parade will  travel along the road past Sultan Patisserie to the traffic lights and will then turn right by the big mosque, past the PTT and Belediye offices and then turn left onto the back road one way system past the Mulberry Tree.  It will then return down the road past the fruit and veg market to the PTT and will finish on the main square by the Cultural Centre.  There will be dancers and musicians from England, Iran, Spain, Ukraine, Africa  America and Greece. There will then be bands and live music on the square throughout the evening and for the following two nights..

The 3C's charity will have a float in the parade tomorrow  (we are no. 61 in the parade so there should be quite a turn out) and we would like to thank in advance that lovely man Bekir from Eren Spot who has not only lent us his truck to use as a float, but has announced tonight that he will be our driver for the afternoon even though he is busy with his own business - what a star!!!  Thank you Bekir.  We would also like to thank Star Elektrik who have fitted our sound system to the truck this evening free of charge.

We really hope the weather is nice tomorrow and that there is a good turnout   :)
