No, but I prefer to put fresh food in the hold, the refridgeration is far more efficient   ;)

Why not just buy it in Calis?  Lovely Danish bacon in the Pork Shops.   Hand luggage is being weighed. I would also think it would not be good to have meat products  un-refrigerated for hours in bag and when you put the bag on the conveyor belt it goes through x-ray, so good chance it would be confiscated as it is against the law to export meat products.

We don't do a cooked breakfast, but often have BLT's for lunch so I can recommend the bacon in the Pork shops.

Had a restaurant recommendation for a full British cooked breakfast at the Secret Garden this week.  Bacon, pork sauusage, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes etc., for 12 TL.  Apparently, it is really nice at the back of the restaurant the "Secret" garden is a lovely setting.  Recommendation came from an English lady who lives here.   Secret Garden is next to the new Bakery and opposite the Yapi Market.   :D

I think it really depends on who you fly with/ where you fly from / your checkin desk agent with regards to hand luggage being weighed.  My mum flew out with Thomson to Dalaman from Luton this morning and her hand luggage was NOT weighed.  My grandparents also flew the same route with Thomson on friday evening and again no weighing of hand luggage..

Thanks for the replys, but still not had an answer. Jaquie I always freeze the meat and put it in a cool bag but have always put it in the hold, also I Have bought bacon and sausage from the pork shop but it is a) not smoked as we prefer and neither is it cheap and B) the sausage are very fatty, which again we don't like. If we get it confiscated then so be it. There are older posts on here that say they have done it and had no problems, but they are old posts. So once again, has anyone brought it over in hand luggage recently?

Yes we did last Saturday, not a problem. We had heard they were xraying and checking everything Dalaman end, not a customs officer in sight. Flying with EasiJet providing your hand luggage fits their dimensions no restriction on weight providing you can hoist it into the luggage locker. They have always put our hand luggage cases in the hold free of charge on request.

Why not acquire a meat mincer and make your own sausages, burgers etc etc. Skins and stuff available on Ebay to bring out.

Am surprised someone's not set up cottage industry yet to make smoked goods and sausages.
