Not polite Number two

A very similar case when we were out there last year the second restaurant on the right as you go over the bridge heading away from the beach,

Gone off starters and the main when i say pink chicken i mean raw chicken in my curry it was pink raw and when we told the waiter
he took the food away came back out and asked us to pay we of course refused, he replied he would call the police i accepted he then replied no he wasn't going to call the police he has phoned his boss to come over i asked him ten minutes later where's the boss he said twenty minutes away so we left and was followed by three Turkish men we went into a couple shop's and they waited outside we had to phone the police for our safety as walking back to the villa wasn't safe, the three men scarpered as soon as the police turned up when we told the police they just laughed at us they gave us a lift home with the blues flashing, only to be followed back to the villa by one of the men in his car and they refused to go and talk to the man who had followed us back

Did it have a guy selling Ice Cream at the side of it?  Seems like it could be Mangal.  One restaurant we have never used.

Second restaurant up from the bridge made me think Mangal too. Been there a few times, always decent but some people rave about it and I couldn't really see why.

This is a tactic often used over there - tell you not to pay anything if you are not happy - knowing Brits would never do that - they won't like it when people actually do!!

Such a ridiculous thing to do - if you deliver poor quality hold your hands up and put it right in any number of ways. People all talk these days on forums, Facebook etc and the cost of putting things right truly is insignificant compared with the money lost from people who read about threats and intimidation and steer clear.

Of course, because they steer clear, the restaurant never get to see the damage they caused to themselves.

We've eaten there a few times so it was good enough for us to go back.  Service always good and reasonably priced.

I think sometimes people confuse not liking their dish with it being poor for other reasons (as in pink chicken etc!).  We were sat near a couple in another place and she clearly didn't like her choice.  He tried it and said it's fine.  He offered to swap but she didn't want his.   She just kept playing with it and pushing it around her plate and finally when the waiter came to clear up, he asked her why she left her food?  In a deliberately loud voice, she told him it was rubbish and she feeds her dog better food.  I couldn't hear all of the argument but it was clear she wanted to avoid paying.  That is so wrong and I can understand why places get rattled when people try to dodge a bill.   Telling customers if they are not happy they don't have to pay means she had very right to refuse,  which is mad  :o  They need a better line.

When faced with under-cooked chicken or poor quality that is clear to see, the staff know very well it is inexcusable and payment should be waived - the customer shouldn't have to refuse.

Thank you for your comment's i'm unsure regarding Mangal, but i'm sure where we sat there was a clothes shop behind us, just at the time i couldn't believe we were being followed and i'm hoping they don't reconize us  this year for my family's safety :/

If it was the Mangal then walk on the other side of the street to avoid them ... you can then pay a visit to the excellent Gunisik, known in these here parts as Frank Canons.  It is down the road slightly and on the opposite side from the Mangal - and competes with them for the take away/paket kebab service - if you do go in for a meal you can then look across the road to see if they are still looking for you!   ;)  ;) :D :D

Joking aside the Gunisik is well worth the visit.

Here is what it looks like

And here is the man himself

Really surprised if it is Mangal, been going there for years and the staff are great.A couple of years ago Tanir the manager left and it went downhill but now he is back it seems back on track.
