exchange rates

Hi after some advice its pay week for me this week so I will be changing my holiday this month before we do that just wondering is the exchange rate still good out there. We normally change our sterling in the jewelers on the main street in calis. We are there in 3 weeks so was thinking is it best to wait or exchange now?? Thanks.

I doubt it will improve hugely and probably not enough that the rate you can get in the UK now would compare with the rate you could get in Turkey when you arrive in 3 weeks. Anything could happen of course but I'd wait till I get there

Also, if you are a regular, if you go into the official change shop and tell them you are a regular, they will give you a bit better rate and they also give you a card to bring in next time.     We found that  Zumrut Jewellery was not giving as good a rate as the Change Shop.   Also, none the shops can advertise a rate outside, because against the law to change money anywhere except the Official Change Shops and the Banks.  So, you would have to go to Zurmut and ask him what rate he was giving.

Just to let you know
Some of the Banks are now refusing to change money unless you have a bank account

The ING was telling people to go to "Dikmens" on the corner rather than queue up in the bank. They said the bank paid the same exchange rate as the money changer.
Another point , the more you want to exchange the better rate you get.

Thanks all think I will wait til I get out there I've always changed when I get there and the rate has been real good so I don't want to jinx it haha.

No problem changing money at Seker Bank', without a account, and getting top rate.

Where about is dekmans and seker bank...out of curiosity what is the official exchange rate at the moment out there?

We got 4.20 at the exchange shop in calis yesterday morning. When we got into Fethiye it was 4.22.  By yesterday evening it had dropped to 4.15.  Not sure what it is today, not been out to see.
