Fabian,
Oz Gold seems popular or the change place by the first Dolmus stop (by Abrakebabra).
The change shop by the fountain (opposite the mosque) is reportedly a bit dodgy. (short changes you etc.)

We used the Change shop up the road passing Goldfinger and walking to the top. Opposite side to The Shine.   They had a better rate of exchange than the Change Shop by the Fountain.  We, of course, checked our money and it was O.K.  Also, they have free booklets on the counter that give you discount vouchers for various Restaurants etc., in the area.

Just to let you know
Some of the Banks are now refusing to change money unless you have a bank account

The ING was telling people to go to "Dikmens" on the corner rather than queue up in the bank. They said the bank paid the same exchange rate as the money changer.
Another point , the more you want to exchange the better rate you get.

I notice your location is Turkey Jack, in the 6 years I have lived here, I have never heard of any bank refusing to change your money unless you have a bank account with them. don't think it has been discussed on this forum  before, always been  show your passport and that's it. Can you tell us what banks are refusing, apart from ING, which IMO has always been crap.

Hi Des
On two occasions I have witnessed the ING telling people to go to the Money Exchanger.
I am with them since 2008 but am seriously thinking of changing, but to whom ?
ING told me that other banks are doing the same.
Have to be fare that the girl told them that if they wanted to join the queue they would have to wait for some time and then told them to try the money exchange as it was the same rate as the Bank.

I have been with Finans for 6 years, also have an account with Seker bank, no problems so far.
