Water taxis getting stuck
« on: July 02, 2015, 07:38:49 AM »
Took the Water Taxi over to Fethiye last night and it got stuck just as it came out into the bay.  This happened to us in September too.  Has anyone else experienced it?  Just wondered if it is now a regular occurrence or maybe we are just unlucky?  We were there for about 15 mins just going backwards and forwards stirring up the mud!   I know it's very shallow there but I still don't fancy wading ashore in my flip-flops   ;D

Was just discussing the same - used the taxis many times but the last two trips, September and last night, we got stuck.   >:(

Only happened to us once before 18 or so years ago, according to my parents the captain looked about 12 at the most and rather than going round the buoys in the water to indicate sandbanks as you reach the canal heading to Calis he went full pelt straight through the middle!  Needless to say we were stuck in the sandbanks for quite some time..

We have been lucky to not have the same situation since, however we have been on a few boats that have clapped out half way across the bay.
