Why should we care.
« on: July 02, 2015, 08:08:12 AM »
Family of 12 goes missing from Luton and are possibly now in Syria.   So, why should we care? Why is it on the news?    If they have gone, that is fine by me, just don't look for them or let them back into the U.K.

Less benefits to pay now. Let them go, don't let them back.

If folks want to head off to a self declared caliphate, within another sovereign country, to live under sharia law and sh1t in the desert then its their right to do so.  Tatty bye and enjoy the sunshine, been nice having you but don't rush back.

However, these muppets are dragging their kids with them, in this instance three youngsters aged between one and eleven years of age.  Now that's criminal.

Today the police have said they are very concerned and are urgently investigating the disappearance of this family.

Today the UK police forces are being slammed for failing to protect vunerable UK kids and prosecuting their attackers.

Only one in fourteen KNOWN attackers are prosecuted.      I suppose it's a question of priorities.

I know exactly what the thought process is with this but if we allowed British Citizens to knowingly go off and join ISIS and they go on to murder, the world would be up in arms that we let them go and made no effort to find their whereabouts.

But I don't know what the answer is - I don't want them back in the UK to murder on our home ground......

Come on Eric, don't tell me that you honestly believe that once they decide to travel to Turkey, Syria or whatever destination, these people call up their Benefits Office to declare that they will no longer be claiming Benefits  ? Really !!??

Would it not be MORE criminal to bugger off to foreign lands, and leave the children here ?

As for sh1tting in the desert, well, horses for courses, innit ??

No country that is abiding by international agreements of many years standing is entitled to prevent their passport holders from entering their country of citizenship i.e. they can't make their own citizens some other country's problem. Citizens may not be deemed "stateless" by their own governments (not since we disposed of Hitler anyway). Of course this doesn't mean that they must be returned to civil society. If they have committed a crime they can be tried before a British court. Apparently if you go via Istanbul to fight in Syria when you return you are lauded on UK TV - if you were on the Kurdish side that is.
