CB ladies ....
« on: August 02, 2015, 07:25:37 AM »
I think this is one for the girls , but if any of you gents have a streak of David Emanual in you that's fine to , I have been to Calis for the last eleven years , and every year we hire a jeep and go out and about and obviously see some great little shops on route, but what I really want is some lovely bedding ... Not the fantastic rouched wedding dress look , but something a little simpler , but I still like the thought of something rouched, but not quite as over the top ...have any of you ladies ever had bedding made , because I have noticed that when we have drove up the hill leavening Fethiye  heading towards Oui Deniz there a few shops that look like they make curtains or bedding , have any of you  Any info on this , and if not could any of you recommend a really nice place to find  ready made bedspreads ?

Went to Detay last week (going from Fethiye to Olu Deniz, just past Erasta, you come to a T junction, turn towards Olu & about 50 metres on RHS is a virtually full sized plastic cow. Carry on about 2/3 of the way to the lights where you bear right to Olu & Detay is on LHS, with a load of umbrellas & garden furniture outside).

Detay is a bit of an alladin's cave for any household textiles & what he doesn't have he can have made. My friend was with me & wanted a particular coloured duvet set, I collected it for her the following day. Also, the chap said that since she has a cat & a dog, that she shouldn't get the top quality fabric @ 120tl, but to have the one @ 100tl.

There is an English lady called Katy works there, so no probs with the lingo either   ;)

In The Erasta Shopping Centre there are two bedding shops upstairs on the right hand side. They are next to each other, one is called English Home.  They both have some lovely textiles, but the one next door with the Turkish name has an assistant that speaks perfect English and we bought some lovely bedding in there.

Look out for Madam Coco, there is one in fethiye and not sure of the exact street but it by the one with all the umbrellas and there is also one in Gocek, they have some beautiful soft home furnishings in very tasteful pastel colours. One of the nicer shops I have come across in Turkey.

I got 6 fantastic bath sheets from Madame coco last August , there was a 70% sale on and when I got to the till and paid for them they worked out at around £4.50 each , it would have been around £23/26 each at home , they really are superb , lovely deep embossed towels ... My " show towels " !!! I will be back for a peep there when we fly in next week
I also know the place your on about Liz , never stopped there but I have passed it loads of times , I will stop and have a look . Just wish I could buy some of the lovely garden furniture !!
Jacqui , I didn't get to the new shopping centre last year but I will defernartly go this time , I am not looking for clothes as such but every year I try to pick something a little different up , I love looking at the soft furnishings , they really are amazing ...
We are staying at club E in Calis , and I useally ask the lovely ladies that work there were to go for some nice quality things but ultimately its sometimes difficult because I can't speak turkish , thanks to all of you for your help

If you go towards Hisaronu through Ovacik ,just as you get to the bottom of the hill on the left is a shop called Naz and it sells some very attractive bed throws.

The shop in Erasta is called Ozdilek.   I found a piece I wrote about it on CBF.   This is the link

Hi Jacqui I am in Calis at the moment and have found some bedding but it is to big to get home the shop said they will mail it for 100 lira but when I have looked on DHL web site  they ship 20 kg for 31eu and I don't think the bedding is anywhere near that weight ... We have the next few days planned out so I can't get to fetihye till Sunday but would like to contact the shop about the weight and can't remember it's name... The shop is on the second row back in fetihye  of the main road and were all the umbrellas are hanging above you , it's about 5 shops up from Madame co co , it's sells very " wedding style " bedding as well as heavy cottons , it's all glass fronted , and quite a big shop , have you any idea what it's called ??? Sorry to be a pain but I know you have lots of good info for this site
