Honeymooning in Calis
« on: September 10, 2015, 13:13:27 PM »
Hi All,

My husband and I are coming over on Monday to enjoy 10 days in the sun.
I see there's some rain at the moment though...I hope that's not going to continue...! How you finding it over there at the moment...very humid it seems?!

I was wondering you could recommend any restaurants and maybe somewhere special is Calis or Fethiye we could go for a special meal? It's my birthday while we're over too so double the reason to celebrate.

We came to Calis years ago and we've since heard that they've extended the promenade further round to Fethiye? Can you walk round now?

Also, now that the lira exchange rate is so good against the pound - have the prices gone up? What would we be paying for a standard two course meal and a couple of drinks do you think? I think Efes was about 3-4tl when we can last.

Sorry for asking a few questions at once.

Thanks...can't wait to come and relax  8) :-*

No rain, it is stinking hot, like July weather.  If you want somewhere special you can go to The Ada Restuarant on Sovalye Island. Book it and the boat will pick you up at the jetty near the Sat Restaurant.  It is very nice over there.  in fact, you can go for the whole day and use their private beach if you want to.
Prom goes from the Hospital in Calis, but you would not want to walk in this heat.
Depends where you go for a meal.  Average meal with a couple of drinks on the prom or the main street from 82tl to 120tl.

Thank you Jacqui,

The restaurant sounds gorgeous! I see you can book online but I guess we'd be best to call when we get there to arrange collection from Calis?
I can't believe it's so hot, I guess we'll just have to take it easy!
Thanks for the info re prices, that's really helpful.

We're so looking forward to the break  :)

Thanks Madbaz,

I'm sure we'll have a lovely honeymoon, thanks for reassuring me about the weather.
I guess at the price we'll have to ensure we're well hydrated in the heat!
Thanks for the recommendations, we'll definitely check them out.
I think I remember been told to go to a place that had traditional Turkish music and dancing, along near sat somewhere? Is that still there?
thanks

Calis is really great place for a honeymoon, we had ours here.

'spose we had to though, as we got married on Calis beach  :)

Then again we could have gone home for a honeymoon  :-\ :-\ :-\

Two places with Turkish music.  First the Yoruk Tents on the prom, with the old fashioned Turkish music. Secondly, the Guitar Bar with live Turkish modern Turkish music every night.
