Just booked 8 nights at the beginning of May, flights to/from Gatwick (Easyjet out & Monarch back) + B&B with Mete at The Golden Moon, £200 each, good enough for me! No room for any goodies though, only booked 1 x 20kg bag between the 2 of us, let's hope it's warm enough for shorts   ;)

I am still determined that political affairs in Turkey won't get in the way of our holiday in 2016.

Ridiculous flight prices might though.

Flights booked for a week in April & 2 weeks in July, will hopefully book for 2 weeks in September at a later date. Usual comments from people who don't know turkey about the safety etc, can't wait myself.

Hello all just thought I would share thoughts having spent a very enjoyable Christmas in Istanbul with no problems at all.
Mrs B & I had not been to Istanbul for over 25 years so with an intervening period of political uncertainty, earthquakes in the 1990's etc. etc. was not too sure what to expect.
Regular Turkish Airlines flights from our nearest airport Bham and some great Christmas deals prompted a long overdue visit with no fears or trepidation.
Friendly reception from all we met Hoteliers, tour staff, bar owners and restaurateurs even if some of the prices were more London than Calis!
Security at Ataturk Airport very tight and thorough so gave extra confidence.
Will we be in Calis? You bet!
Just sorting out our first visit for April/May 2016 asap.

Just booked for three adults with Monarch from Luton - 1 June to 15 June: total £700 and that included hold baggage for three and annual insurance for one (also including extra legroom for one - we two get extra legroom for free). Hope the weather will be hot but not too hot!
