Also on this day, but in 771AD, Charlemagne took over as sole leader of the Frankish Empire. Historians are disputing which of these two events was the more important. Time will tell.

On this day 4th December, a long time ago  Phil and I got engaged.  So, he took me to Aberdeen today and bought me a lovely lunch and few drinks.  Also treated me to a nice new coat.
