Thomas Cook flights

Update - Sunshine have now come back to me and said that I can extend my accommodation together with flight day after, arriving Manchester at 23:55 for total cost of £74. Not a bad result, although would have preferred not to have had the aggravation.

Don't quote me on this but hearing that not all Thomas Cook flights are atol protected,  check before you book.

I booked  in September for me and 3 friends to come to Calis next July with Thompson , we are staying at the Mutlu hotel and the flights were late flights out arriving in Turkey around midnight and flying back 2 in the morning arriving in Manchester at 5.30 ish . We paid £270 each for a week B and B , so I wasn't worried about the flight times . however we got an email last week saying our flights were now 8.30 am going out and 17.30 flying home . We are all happy about this but I have also been on the other end when I have booked good flights because I have been with my family and then had to accept rubbish flights ...I really can't understand how it all works

I just did quote you - mainly because you're correct.  Thomas Cook Airlines have decided not to engage with the ATOL scheme as they feel they are big enough and rich enough to effectively "self insure".  Arrogant bellends.

Number one rule now with them is to ALWAYS use a credit card, never a debit card.  At least you'll be protected - and yes, I know some debit cards enjoy the same level of protection but not all of them do.

Horrible company, would rather walk than fly with them.

Well, I started this thread, and now Thomas Cook have emailed me again to say that flights are changing again! Don't believe it. I paid £70 to change the original flight but did get an additional night in the hotel so thought all's well that ends well. Huh!!  They're now offering me a night less but better flight times, ie not arriving silly o'clock in the morning either end. BUT, I've a mind to say stuff it and cancel as there's no guarantee that they won't change times again as its a long time yet to September. Might sleep on it (insert unhappy face!)

Really wouldn't touch Thomas Crook with a barge pole!  I think there will be problems with a few of the airlines this year but feel they will be the worst offenders as they really have no idea about looking after the customers, let's be honest, you're a bit of an inconvenience!
