Boat fire
« on: January 21, 2016, 14:38:09 PM »
Around noon today, we noticed a thick plume of black smoke from behind Sovalye Island. A while later, it became evident that it was a boat on fire & the boat had now been shepherded by 2 coastguard boats towards the Letoonia headland. The last we saw, about an hour ago, was that the boat was alongside Red Island, still burning & that the coastguards were still fairly close by.

Does anyone have any further information on this incident?

It caught fire in the marina and was towed out of harms way.

There seems to be a chap wandering around the front of the burning boat.

Fuel tanks? - risk of explosion? - all seems comparatively calm.

It's being moved, albeit slowly but I can't see fire extinguishers being used (too late for them , I guess) or rescue craft with power hoses making some attempt to douse the flames.

There are many other boats, apparently in close proximity.

Intrigued to see how this pans out.

According to the Daily Fail it was berthed in the resort of Mugla. Still, mustn't let the facts get in the way of an exclusive.

I have no idea what you're on about - £4m superyachts spontaneously combusting are JUST as common as Russian dissidents accidentally ingesting the commonly available radioactive substance Polonium 210. No one is responsible and no one will will be brought to account. Everyday occurrence, Mr Putin, I mean KKOB.
