Whats going to happen to the Letoon Hotel cat?
« on: January 24, 2016, 15:21:15 PM »
Anyone know what is going to happen to the Letoon? When we left the hotel last September we were told by the manager, Gul, that they were going to either pull it down or might just do a refurb over the winter but it would be open again this year.  I've heard from other regulars that nothing has happened as yet and not sure if it will be open this year or not as emailed the Letoon last weekend and heard nothing back as yet.  Don't want to book it as worried it will be another Seketur and end up being shut for the whole season.  Shame as my husband and I love the hotel, great position on the seafront and very quiet. Other worry is what is going to happen to their lovely cleaning leady who I hear has been there for years plus what about the hotel cat who's well known by the regulars and I'm told he appears every May when the hotel opens spend most of his time in one of the guests bedroom or on the balcony/terrace sleeping and then disappears again when the hotel closes in October.  Some regulars including ourselves take over food and a bowl to feed him.  He must be, or has been a street cat, as he's got the tell tail nick in his ear but must be used to being handled as very friendly.

It is also being advertised on Booking.com as well, the Hotel that is, not the cat.

We were there last year, the same as we have for many, many years, but this year we are going to the Remmer where our good friend Nevra (who worked at the Letoon for many years) is working on reception.

Hi back over in Calis at the moment but not staying at the Letoon as didn't know if it was going to be open again this year. Popped down to the Letoon hotel this morning to see if I could see the cat around but there was no one around not even a guest. Anyone spotted the cat around this year? In any of the other hotels or apartments round and about as would like to know he's OK. Thanks

Try the Oben Restaurant for a meal in the evening. There are a lot of cats there that seem to gather looking for scraps of food.  Your cat may be there.
Ask the Waiter Efes, he used to work at the Letoon and speaks very good English.
