I will be happier when out of airport and in calis after last night.  Resort always feels safe and hopefully always will.I love the place and the many genuine people who work so hard there.

We travelled around Asia in Feb and the most unnerving part was an 8 hour wait for our KL flight at Ataturk.
I said this to John and he said dont be daft.
I do agree somewhat Colwyn about being ripped off.
It tarnishes peoples view of a country for sure.

You are actually somewhat agreeing with the Turkish chap in the holiday industry with whom I was chatting. I don't agree with it actually. Marmaris has been ripping off tourists for 20 years and getting away with it - especially the passengers from Med cruise ships and ferries from Rhodes that call in for a few hours. I don't think that this longterm rip-off accounts for the collapse of Marmaris holiday trade this year. A minor contribution maybe. When Turkey was cheap and people were padding the bill that didn't hurt so much. But Turkey isn't that cheap any more and maybe it impacts more.

I follow a Turkish site on Facebook 'Turkey's for Life' and everyone who follows were asked who is travelling to Fethiye this month for a holiday. At least 200 people replied saying they were and looking forward to it. Each family possibly 3-4 people or couples so that's a positive response i would say.  :)

I would say it is the people who don't follow Turkey's For Life who need to show up. People who join groups like that and CBF are fans of the place, they are the last ones likely to avoid Turkey.

Sadly, Turkey can't survive on us lot.

I agree Scunner but i was surprised to read quite a few new visitors also. They joined the page because it's their first visit to Turkey. But yes it can't survive on a few first timers but I'm doing my best to promote it  ;) :D

Due to recent events I thought I'd give this a bump.
So, are you still going?

We are.  Our flights are booked, our place will be ready and waiting for us and I am keeping everything crossed that the UK government don't issue any travel warnings  :)
