This story has been rumbling along for a few days now - hackers say they've managed to download a government database with personal details (name, DoB, parents name, addresses etc) of over 50m Turkish citizens. Couple of articles on
Hurriyet and
Guardian.
Government officials saying its all bollox and that its an old rumour from years ago, hackers saying no its not and we can prove it.
Well, look like they
did steal the data and they
can prove it. It's online at:
https://thanksgiving.who.ecI haven't been able to access it, I suspect its on overload but according to a few folks on different forums they found either their details or those of relatives.
Massive OOPS by someone's IT department.
