Ramos on the prom, you must be joking, got to be the most well known con man on the prom, recall my daughter telling me 3years ago the leather handbag she bought, the leather spray he had used on it had wore off and it was a fake leather. as for watches Fethiye  is the best bet, proper jewelers shops though, not market. I bought a fake rolex watch in fethiye 17 years ago, and still going great and keeping excellent time. think I paid about £ 250 then.

Never had a problem with Ramos Des, and I can't recall anyone else telling me they have. Based on the theory of speak as you find, I felt it important to reply.

If you go into the Genuine Fake Watch shop in Fethiye and ask to see the ETA range you will be taken upstairs. You will be able to compare their normal range (circa £90) to the best quality ones, expect to pay in the region of £400 though.

This is totally mad.  If you buy a genuine watch at Auction it will always increase in price. Buy a fake and there is no resale value.
I bought a ladies gold Rolex about 5 years ago, at Auction for £600.00 it is perfect, never had any problems with it and I know if I wanted to re-sell it, I would make a profit.  I remember a Jeweller in Fethiye asking me about it and saying it would sell for about £1,500.

If your friend wants the genuine fake Rolex for show, go to Ramos, if she wants it to last for years she will have to pay more than a 100 pounds
You gets what you pays for,

I am a bit of a watch fanatic and have bought several of these "fake watches" as said before there are different qualities available out there from the £5.00 Michael Cores ( geddit) to the decent Rolex etc for about £60 - £100. It depends how good a hagler you are. If you are paying anymore for a fake you are being totally ripped off and I don't care which posh jewellers you are buying it from. I never pay less than £50 and of all the ones I've bought, they all look identical to the real thing and all keep excellent time.

France even those in the strong room upstairs are not Swiss ETA they are Chinese ETA copies. The Swatch organisation own the ETA movement and stopped selling them to anyone else years ago, there were some old ones about that were being put into reps but the first thing you need is a service which costs hundreds if you can find someone to work on a rep.despite what people say about their brilliant fakes you can still tell the difference for a variety of reasons, the biggest tell on a Rolex Sub or DSSD is the white bezel markers as Rolex use platinum, the next is the steel used to make them is a lower grade 316 Rolex use something like 914 which only they use so it gives the watches that distinct look.I buy and sell watches both genuine and good copies,I have a friendly watchmaker who,if I get a good enough copy I can take to and swap out some parts or have it modded as we say to be more genuine like but you can always tell.Personally I don't care as even some of the reps are things of beauty and can be admired for the craftsmanship.it is quite funny though when you see blokes in Prinark t shirts,£6 Ray Bins who tell you the £38k Rolex ,Audemars Piquet,Piaget etc is the rea deal!Anyone asks about my watch I will tell them as I have both gens and reps, some of the reps get worn more.
Advice,if you like it,you are willing to pay a price that you are comfortable with, you don't expect it to last a lifetime ,buy it.That goes for bags, glasses etc as well

Nice to read something by someone who seems to know what they are talking about - even if I have zero interest in fancy watches or even fake fancy watches.

Thanks Steve A. To be fair the shop no longer try and tell you that they are Swiss ETA. They do say even their best watches have Chinese movements. I must admit they look fantastic, however, I doubt if I would part with 400 quid for a fake.

Fran I have paid over £400 for a good copy submariner which then goes to a watchmaker who breaks it down, services, irons out the tells, that way I know I have a great watch for the price that will in effect last as long as a genuine but I would be hard pushed to spend that in Turkey as they are not happy for you to remove the caseback
