Transporting computer
« on: May 28, 2016, 21:55:37 PM »
Hi  I contacted easyjet about bringing a computer to Turkey, they told me to pack well and check it into oversire baggage, that's fine, but what do I do when I arrive at dalaman, collect it obviously, but do I need to pay, and will they allow it to be brought into Turkey. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

They will probably charge you tax on it, don't know what the charges are though. ..

Thank you.  Would I need to tell them I have it or just see if I'm approach. Don't want to get in any trouble.

Nope, no tax.

As long as it's "accompanied baggage", i.e. your bringing it in yourself, you own it and its for your own personal use, its allowed.

Ihave a Shuttle XPC, bit smaller than your normal desktop size ones.
I put it in a large back pack, monitor in suitcase with keyboard etc and just trundle through, done it quite a few times and never been stopped yet. ;D

I brought a tower in my hand luggage and no questions were asked.  Key board and monitor can be bought here, although I put mine in with my main luggage.
