The forum is now running on its new server, a job that test runs showed should have taken approximately 25mins.

What we didn't take into account was the sheer incompetence of some arsehole at the hosting company who managed to turn a 25min job into a total of 12hrs.

Any glitches or errors you come across, please post them in this thread.

As a bit of a Philistine ,why do you need to change hosts,it has been done before?Is this for increased capacity,speed,user access ?

We didn't change hosts, just moved the forum to a different hosting package with the same hosts - it was done for a variety of reasons.

Ironically, if had actually changed hosting companies then it would have been a seamless transfer, irrespective of the capabilities (or lack of) of the hosting company employees.

Looks like we're still having a few teething problems.

If you get an error page trying to access the forum, just leave it for a bit and try later - its an intermittent fault and will be taken up with the hosting company.

Nothing we can do about it.

Well, apart from taking a few of their employees out the back and...
