Guess what is coming next door to the Calis Chemsts.
« on: June 11, 2016, 22:15:30 PM »
Noted today that the building next door to the Chemist in Calis is going to be a Migros.  Well just what Calis needs, another Supermarket...
It seems mad to me that there are so many supermarkets, markets etc. All open 7 days per week, yet the only Chemist in Calis (A tourist resort) is closed Saturday and Sunday.  We saw people walking up and trying the door today.  I realise Chemists close on a Sunday, but it seems madness to close on a Saturday too.

It says on the door "Closed Saturday and Sunday".  However this is Turkey.

Yes this is Turkey. Chemists in the area open on a rota basis at weekends and they probably think they are entitled to some time off.

Plus there are about twenty chemists around the hospital which is practically in Çaliş and there is always at least one of them open at weekends.

I've often wandered why the chemists don't use a Rota system between themselves by where say, 2 close on a monday, 2 close on a Tuesday, 2 on a weds, so on and so on. They all get a day off and trade is still shared around. We have struggled in the past to find a chemist open on a Sunday even around the hospital area.

I needed something urgently a couple of Saturdays ago and every single chemist around Devlet Hastane was closed. There is always a duty chemist open at weekend but it is not posted in all chemist windows. Apparently there is a notice outside Es Naf and another one near the Mosque by the dolmus terminal.

There are always two chemists on duty outside regular hours (nights/weekends). You can check online http://www.muglaeczaciodasi.org.tr
for nobetci eczane.

The chemists in Hisaronu and Oludeniz are open every day from 8 am till around midnight during the season.

That's rather inconsiderate i think!  :)

So, is that the system they use in the UK now then?
