Bring a brolly
« on: June 22, 2016, 15:16:10 PM »
If you are coming in the next week bring a brolly. You will need it to shade from the sun.

It's blistering -as hot as I've known it.

I just got back yesterday - it was really, really hot! I didn't walk out and about in the middle of the day, thought I might have melted! Everyone was saying it was typical of July/August weather rather than June 8)
Not that I'm complaining - there were flash floods here at home when I was away!

My tip for staying cool:

Swim (or cold shower if you don't have a pool handy) in shorts and t-shirt and let them stay wet and sit in front of a fan!

I have coped quite well doing this so far.

And yeah - stay out of the direct sun.

Was reaching in to the 40's when we left last Friday and was due to keep rising. Starting to get uncomfortable if no breeze or out in the open.

Hope the hot weather lasts into September! Experienced June, July and August temperatures but never been as late as mid September.

That's one of the nicest times to visit Lynne.  Easy enough to wander around without feeling exhausted but still lovely and warm.
