Captain Omar Water sports in Calis
« on: September 20, 2016, 15:46:52 PM »
When we first bought our apartment we were lead to believe that waterskiing was available at Calis beach we later found out this was not the case so over the last ten years we have travelled to Olu deniz - Kalcan and of late Tuana Beach so my husband can water ski.
While in Calis recently my husband fulfilled his dream and water skied in Calis all thanks to Captain Omar who recently gained a licence to provide water sport near the Sat Beach Club. First time we have ventured this far along the beach towards Fethiye and we were pleasantly surprised by the good facilities provided and we found it very relaxing.

If you want a fun day I can recommend Omar and his lovely family to provide this with a variation of water sports .
Wishing Omar success in his new venture .

Patrice, I am so glad you made this post. We've been struggling to find water skiing since Apo folded his operations in the Lagoon. We've occasionally skiied (?) with the numpties in Gemeler bay but they don't really have a clue, or want skiers and so charge a hefty price. We'll give Captain Omar a go in 10 days time or so when we're over. Incidentally, what does he charge?

Thanks again for the info.

Jondo his fees are 120 tl which is the same as elsewhere but he will negotiate if you want a package.
Omer is very friendly and appears professional but  my husband uses his own mono ski .
Just one thing you need to be there early when the sea is calm .Omer is on facebook if you want to contact him.
Please feel free to message me if you want any further information.

Thanks for the info on the price Patrice. Seems very high. We used to pay 50 - 60 TL at the Lagoon, but then we were using bundles of 10 -15 pulls. I'm not sure there would be such a significant discount with an Omar package. In Gemeler bay they charge around 80 - 90 and it's calm enough for mono - just have to put up with numpty drivers!

Same price as Tuana beach but husband gets a good deal on a package of 5 last not sure what he paid at the  Lagoon last time he skied there was last year and he was not pleased with the boat driver and only a short run.
Perhaps a visit to Omer and a chat him  we found him to be a genuine guy and also some good videos of the ski

Yes, that's a good idea Patrice. The quality of the skiing may well justify the price.
