Parking Fines for sun beds
« on: September 25, 2016, 20:47:41 PM »
Readers will soon gather that the following is a pet hate of mine.

I propose a range of fines for people who put towels on sunbeda and proceed to disappear.

I would suggest the following

1. If you return within 1/2 hour of placing the towel - no fine
2. If you return within 1 hour of placing the towel - £ 1.00 fine
3. If you return within 2 hours of placing the towel - £ 2.00 fine
4. £ 5.00 for up to 4 hours
5. £ 10.00 for over 4 hours and towel confiscated for 24 hours

All proceeds to local charity.

Just a suggestion   :)

Sorry but I think the English are as bad if not worse and totally agree  with Highlander. We stopped going to our regular hotel in Calis after 13 years because of the problems with those saving sunbeds and we told the owner the reason.  I just wish the owners would do something about it. Just a notice would help with a threat to remove towels. Rumour has it that after we left our old hotel one of the irate guests went down early one morning and dumped all the towels from the saved beds in a big pile by the pool.

If people leave their towels on beds for more than an hour I think it's perfectly acceptable to remove them. What could they say? Its extremely bad mannered, I know some people have planned a morning out but have earmarked their beds (their area) before they leave and sail back about 4 hours later. Selfish.

I don't think you will stop people saving sunbeds, people come on holiday with large families and friends.
and I'm sure most people will save sunbeds for them,

The main reason people reserve sunbeds is that they see that people are reserving sunbeds.
