What great reviews Karennina and Mr T. We've never really considered Calis/Fethiye in the winter but reading these has given us some food for thought  :D  Would depend on what flights we could get though.

We were going to go to Malaga in Spain the flights were cheap but the hotels were coming up very expensive. So we had a look at Antalya the cost of the all inclusive hotels nearby were amazing. so overall Antalya was cheaper. So we booked a week in Side.

Then my better half cancelled the hotel in Side and booked a transfer to Oludeniz. We spent a little more but had a fantastic week , I would have enjoyed Side where I would have probably eaten my own body weight at the all inclusive. But I'm glad we went to Oludeniz Calis and Fethiye instead. and we saw and did quite a lot in the week. We have always loved the Fethiye region and wanted to visit out of season to see if we would like the place as much. We love it even more now!

If there were more reasonably prices flights to Dalyan at Christmas. I'm sure Calis / Oludeniz would give the Spanish Christmas destinations a run for their money.

Great report Mr T, so glad we have made the decision to go now, we are looking forward to seeing the area out of season, as we love the walking and scenery, we have been visiting Calis twice a year for 13 years in May and September, so xmas visit is a first for us . Bring it on

We came out mid November one year, spent the days sunbathing in glorious weather and the nights shivering under

a borrowed electric blanket. The roads in Hisaronu were shimmering from the heat haze daytime and were white with

frost at night. Great holiday though.     8)

Great post MrT.  Karennina gave me food for thought and now you have provided an alternative buffet!
Maybe a 10 day, 2 or 3 centre break from Boxing Day through New Year would fit the bill.
Decisions, decisions!   :-\  ;D
