My home town’s Football Team, Ross County, were promoted to the top flight of Scottish Football last night.

A fantastic achievement given a string of injuries to key players throughout the season include the loss of or star strike who has been out since February.
Add to that some bizarre decisions by the SFA which resulted in a large number of games being played over a very short period.
Credit also to the fans who support the team home and away. County have the fourth highest average home gate in the league only bettered by Dundee United, Dunfermline and Falkirk – a remarkable achievement given the following table.
TOWN POPULATION Dundee 147,710 (two teams of course)
Dunfermline 50,380
Falkirk 35,310
Dingwall 5,491
The average home gate is also on average approximately 1,200 more than our Highland rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle (Inverness population – 61,235). I real must make an effort to go to games next season.
And there will of course be one County fanatic who will be looking down with a huge grin on her face this morning.
Very well done to all involved.
