Yep have to a agree with RIMMs us scousers got to stick together. Hisaronu reminds me of Blackpool or Rhyl and I never liked them either even when I was younger.

We take hisaronu for what it is...a lively holiday resort with an abundance of restaurants and bars.
We live a 15 minute walk from the centre of Hisaronu, on the ourskirts of Ovacik and very rarely venture into Hisaronu in the summer...must be my age, although a lot of the holiday makers must love its cheeky charm as if you speak to them a lot of them have been returning year after year.
My husbands Teenage daughers can't get enough of it!!
I have to say, turn off the main road and there are some lovely restaurants and quieter bars for us peace seekers. (not all of them have rip off prices)
With Oludeniz 10 minutes one way and Fethiye 10 minutes the other, it does have a great location and those mountain breezes in the summer are a great relief from the scorching temperatures.
I suppose what rocks one persons boat, wont necessarly rock the anothers.

we just spent half term at our place in Ovacik. There were seven women and 12 kids, eldest kid 13 and youngest 3.  Normally we dont go anywhere near Hisaronu - I fell in love with the place in 1991 and it has changed beyond recognition since then. HOWEVER..... as there are so many restaurants that cater for kids there (in particular chinese restaurants) we decided to venture in - and we had some fab nights.  Bars that we would normally avoid like the plague (Zombie, Aloha) gave us hours of good entertainment and the kids had an absolute ball - (to say nothing of us forty something Mums with all the gorgeous barmen!!)  so dont knock it...its fun, yes it can be noisy (not at all so in October half term week)but its entertaining. Kids are well catered for and its great to browse the shops of a night. We sat up round the fire at the zombie bar one night, whilst the kids played football in the street with the Jandarma - as its pedestrianised, its safe for the children which makes it so much more relaxing for us.

The village has gone through alot of changes not all forthe best but most of them are to cater for the british tourist so if you don't want to much of this high end entertainment take a short trip out to calis or further afield for a change and i tell you you will get alot of change for you lira, but in hisaronu its a must to see the drag show at the talk of the town its brilliant fun night out

The drag acts, elvis impersonators, and shows like the `talk of the town` belong in Blackpool !!!   leave them there !!  we  are in Turkey...lets have a campaign   to steer   Hisaronu and the area back to more `turkish` entertainment etc. Mmmmmmmm   I have a sneaky feeling  you work there as your post sounds like you are pushing the establishment

I, like some others here, discovered Hisaronu when it was a beautiful rustic hamlet in the mountains, with a dirt road running through it and livestock wandering freely, goats, chickens etc. Now it is over sized, over rated and over priced, it's nothing but a tourist trap, but, those who never knew it in it's former glory no doubt think it's wonderful. It all depends what you want from a holiday, for me, it's Hisaronu as it was, but sadly that has been lost for ever so it's no longer on my list of must stay places.
It seems to be a common problem with any area that gets discovered, the locals latch on and go into a building frenzy!! Next thing you know it's bulging with disco bars, clubs, pubs and acres of apartment and villa complexes!! Soon there will be no tranquil havens left for those of us who prefer a more peaceful holiday. :(

this is the life we live discover somewhere nice then it changes, the trouble is we all want the old hisaronu but all need the tourist to keep the improvements going that britsh tour operators require, and you end up with what you have now
Sleuth no i do not have an intrest in the talk of the town but having been in the village for a good number of years i found it a great laugh and enjoyable, perhaps i have been living the turkish lifestyle to long, i have never been to one in the uk so did not quite now what to expect.
i think the natuarel turkey is the turkey i love from 17 years ago but the clock cannot be turned back unfortunatly so you have to explore other regons and areas for the old hisaronu
