email to turk telecom
Merhaba ...... I am British with Turkcell sim in British phone ...... I do not return to Turkey until 28 December ..... can I register my mobile phone after 14 December? ..... thank you

reply
It's always possible to register your phone via your Turkish GSM service providers (Turkcell, Telsim or Avea) registration or SIM card selling centers.

With my best wishes.
Dr. M. ALTUNER

I think this means that people returning after 14th wil lstill be able to register.

We have tried twice in Antalya and failed. We are trying again on Monday at a different office.

The clerk here understands what is required but the system does not seem to be set up yet.

Have spoken to a couple of Turkish people about this and they both came up with basically the same answer  "This is Turkey....it may never happen"  :D
