New Member Intro & a question as well......
« on: January 26, 2006, 21:56:03 PM »
I'm not a new member really, but this is my first posting (yes I do feel guilty, so I'll have to make amends). I registered on 1/3/05, having purchased a property the previous October on the CICEK development in Kocacalis/Ciftlik. Since then my wife Kath and I have had 5 holidays in Calis (she works in a school, so we can only go in the hols) and we love it. We're over again at half term for a bit of R & R , with hopefully the weather bieng a bit better than my home town of Stockport. I suppoose like most new members, my date of birth has been put in as '13' but were actually both forty/ fifty something, even though I might act 13 now and again.... Anyway, that's enough on me for now, so over to the question. My home/contents/earthquake insurance on the house runs out in Feb, so does anyone know an Engilsh speaking broker in Fethiye who could give me a quote, if so, can you let me have their name/phone number.
Thanks in advance. Will post again soon, Nev.

Hi Welcome- I think we have paid 630tyl ie about £250 in Oct 05 for contents and earthquake insurance including contents for goods to the value of £7500. This is for a 3 bed duplex. Rates vary and depend on whether you intend to rent it out. (We dont) and whether it will be empty for long periods. ie winter months. Now if you ask me where we got it from, I havent a clue as it was done via our attorney and all the documents are in Turkish! Hope this is of some help! Stuart

Hi Nev,

We own just round the corner from you on Saglik. We looked at Cicek but they didn't have what we wanted. Nice complex though and I know one or two members own there.

We renewed our buildings/ contents and eq insurance through Axa in Fethyie. Cost was about £140 for the year.

Unfortunatley I cannot tell you where it is as Legless did it for us when he did his (our next door neighbour). However I do know that Cheryl at Orange might be able to get you a quote. Send her a PM and see what she can do for you.

Hi Nev
Try this link, you should be able to do it online with Axa.   They are a big company, we were insured with them for both our cars and house insurance when we lived in Germany and it's usually pretty straightforward.

Hope this helps
Julie :o))

Hi and a warm welcome to the Forum.  Most of the major banks will arrange your insurances for you at competitive rate. Advantage of using the bank is they will be able to reinsure the following year even if you are not here at the time it is due. :)

Thanks for the advice so far. I'll send a couple of emails and see what comes back. Cheers,
