Hello, to Calis Beach. I'm an artist and like walking, particularly enjoy Lycean way. I'm thinking of buying an apartment in Calis partly as holiday rental investment but also as basis for exploration and research. How is the winter weather there? Does Calis Beach close down? How have the rental markets been. Look forward to maybe meeting some of the community when I come out to visit on the 2nd April. My E-mail is ***************** if anybody wants to suggest possible place to invest.

Welcome to the Forums but please take your email address out of your post. You may end up with a mailbox full of Spam. Click on the little pictures above the post - the one with the pencil to edit. You can be reached by email if people click on your name.
Winter weather much better than Britain although it can get cold & wet - I'll leave it to the residents to tell more.
Not a good idea to ask people where to invest your money. Use the search facilities for good agents & make your own mind up. Don't buy off someone in the street. Of course, you could always buy one of our villas for sale at a bargain price. :-))

hi chuck, welcome and enjoy reading and posting topics.
The weather out of season can be hit and miss,it does get in the minuses in the evenings, but the days can be warm.Calis does receed a little in the winter but there is enough open to occupy yourself, but after the long hikes i think a book and a beer will see you through.
You will need to do a lot of research in order to capitalize on rental places, one because of the cost of buying in the right rental areas is not cheap and two the area is still expanding so what might be this years boom area is next years dead end place.
hope this helps and does not put you off too much

Hi and welcome to the Forum.  Winter weather on a scale of 1 to 10....UK 2 Fethiye 7/8  Some rain, few thunderstoms...usually short lived, some gorgeous days, evenings/nights usually chilly, some cold, very rarely down to zero C. Sea temperature rarely below 18C  Fethiye itself probably the best for life in winter. Calis/Ovacik probably better for Summer rental.. Research for yourself both Summer and Winter before you decide. :)

Hi Chuck. Welcome to the forum.  Calis and Olu Deniz are lovely in the summer for swimming etc. Fethiye is a working town so doesn't close down in the winter, although it gets quieter.  Fethiye has a beautiful marina but is probably not ideal for rental income.  Local transport is great in the summer season, so all these places and lots of others are easy to get to.  Transport slows down in the winter though and tends to be a lot more restricted.

I am sure you will have a great time in April, it is a lovely part of the world.
