Hi,

Am new to forums and Turkey- so here goes!

Myself, wife & kids are going to Calis 22nd June- looks great from what i have read so far.

Am i right in thinking that it is best to change money once we are over there ? ( Is it best to take cash or are there Cash machines avail ?)

If so are there places in the resort or do we have to go to Fethiye ?[?]

Many thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum - you will find lots of info about changing money, cash machines etc on here.  You should be able to pick up previous discussions in the search facility.

Hi Barneybostin and family, welcom to the forum and we hope you have a lovely time in Calis. We always use our Nationwide Flex account for getting our money in Turkey from ATMs as there is no charge. Many other members of the forum do the same. Other banks may charge but Nationwide does not. There are two ATMs in Calis and many in Fethiye, and several places in Calis where you can change money; most bars will, but check what their rate is against others.

Thanks for the advice, it`s really useful to know. I will look at the Nationwide a/c compared to my own and perhaps switch as this seems the easiest way to get cash / lira.

N.B The forum looks great- although i`m still finding my way about at the moment (Bill Gates can sleep easy !)

Barney beware using your switch card, look at the search facility to get in depth info, but you could be stung for up to 4.75% for using your switch card to get money from the ATM.(thats your British bank who charge you by the way!)

Hi Barney welcome to the site, I have just applied online for a Nationwide flex account, I intend to use only for purchases in Turkey. Hope you have a great holiday.
