I am flying from Gatwick today (yeh!) with Easyjet not TC but I will try and see if TC is doing any weighing when we pass by their boarding gates.
In fairness to TC when I flew back with them in October there was a lady travelling on her own with a toddler and a baby she was doing her utmost to entertain them but the passenger in front of her complained to one of the cabin crew to ask her to do something about the children. The cabin girl very politely pointed out the lady was doing her best to keep them entertained so there was nothing she could do.Some of us other passengers mucked in to help entertain and it turned out to be a really nice flight, (well for the ones that were not moaning) and on that occasion I did think well done Thomas Cook :)

on the subject of children annoying other passengers - to avoid discomfort to all they should allocate all families together - this way all the children would entertain each other and not disturb passengers with no families
