Liquid restrictions at Dalaman

You wouldn't say that if you got shot at a check in desk. You certainly wouldn't say it if a pilot was forced through the airport at gunpoint onto a plane by terrorists. Airport security is as important as aircraft security, something you choose to miss.

We were told exactly the same thing as Rimms was when we travelled back on the 4th.I had a bottle of water in my hand as I wanted to be clear on what the rule was, I showed it to the security chap and he pointed to my case and so I put it in there, the people behind us put there bottles in the plastic trays you get for your coins and stuff and then just retrieved them after they had been scanned!
I agree with what Scunner and Rimms said, the ban is there for a reason but that first security scan if you are carrying liquids seems pointless! I asked the price of the water at the little cafe at the departure gate and asked the guy if I buy it can I take it on the plane to which he just shrugged. I for one will not pay that price for a bottle of water out of principle but it is going to be a nightmare in the summer not having water at the airport, also took me one hour after take off to buy a bottle on the flight.

Yes that's right, because someone managed to get some water onto a plane it's probably best to just give up looking for volatile liquids altogether.

Both of our references were to the first check in. I agree being able to get liquids through the second check-in, the equivalent of the UK airports landside/airside boundary check, is very worrying and I would hope that it has been reported to the Dalaman Authorities.

I specifically referred to putting drinks for use in the airport in your suitcase to avoid officious staff confiscating at the entrance security.

i take it, after reading your link, that each passenger can take a maximum of 1litre as long as it is in individual containers of 100ml??

Dalaman Airport website clarifies that it is the clear bag that you put the containers in that must not exceed 1 litre in volume. This is in line with UK airports.
