water bills

Just received water bills for 4 villas on our complex, and considering the owners are not here, were qwuite large so asked our manager to ring the beledere.  Apparently they are also adding a tax for the dustbins etc onto the 2 monthly bill, can,t work out the amount as all different, but it depends how much water you use and they,re calling it a recycling tax

If they are adding money on for the bins what exactly is the council tax for please?
I don't quite understand what the bins have to do with the water bill.

Is it because the water and refuse collection tax is levied by Oludeniz Belediye but the "Council Tax" is paid to Fethiye Belediye ?

Calis/Gunlukbasi only has one Belediye, Fethiye.

Hi Ovaciksarah.When you say the water bill is higher can you say if they are double or treble or more than the usual cost?. We are just wondering if it is financially viable for us to live here, with all the leverages the beledyse are putting on us.(road tax, residency etc). Thanks

my bill for my apartment has gone up by 150%...usualy 16 tl now gone up to 41 tl...my Turkish neighbours bills have gone up by the same amount

Yes utilities have gone up a lot here but if you are struggling to pay the bills here, how do you think you would manage back in the UK? Council Tax alone is astronomical compared with the nominal rates here.

rubbish tax has been added to the water bills in fethiye for a couple of years now.
