Cheers, don't know if you've managed to email Mehmet Mehdi Eker.  I have found that Hotmail won't send 'outlook' emails but I do manage to send them through Yahoo.
I think Nichola is right with regarding a meeting and, yes, permission is needed from the local jandarma.
Perhaps Hisaronou car park would be a good place or is it too close to home?
Would imagine a lot of people would turn up so somewhere big? :-\

Hi Peecee we need everybody on board for this one!  My e mails haven't come back so am presuming they have arrived.  As Nichola has already suggested a meeting and we have put it on Facebook and Trip Advisor - they also have a link on the Olu Deniz forum under 'I hope this never happens' to see what is needed or can be done.  Do not know if this needs to be done quickly as 'The Pond' is due to be opening for the summer.  It has to be a peaceful demonstration and I do think Hisaronou car park would be a good place as it is right in the middle of the area concerned but we do not want to upset anyone and I wonder how receptive the local Jandarma would be to it!
Sorry for continually repeating myself but can we all 'Keep going'.  Any new link to anybody that is given on any forum if we can keep e mailing/ faxing etc.  You only need to copy and paste and it only takes a minute!
As I have already said this is now at the attention of everyone not just in Turkey but now worldwide.  Lets keep it highlighted!!

Can I just clarify we don't need anybodys permission to hold a meeting to discuss this. I am suggesting we hold a planning meeting locally to discuss what more we can do and how.

We would need permission to protest publically - that may come out of the meeting of course in which case necessary permission would have to be sought.

I would suggest meeting in Fethiye venue can be decided when we know approx how many people want to come.

I am in touch with someone in Fethiye and she knows quite a few people that aren't on the forum or FB that are apparently interested.

Also Fethiye is central for most people.

Link to Panorama on BBC can we all try them?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/panorama/hi/front_page/newsid_7755000/7755981.stm
or
mailto:%20 panorama@bbc.co.uk

Fethiye is the bigger town so maybe a better idea than Hisaronou - please send your ideas via Nichola's profile, then it can be co-ordinated!  If everybody lets her know how many people want to turn up she will be able to find a meeting place!!
Even if you can't turn up let her know your ideas PLEASE!!!

Dont get me wrong on this point of view I am all for saving the dolphins planned for Hisaronu. However there was a post on the forum several days ago, concerning two sharks caught off the coast of Fethiye. I watched the video showing one of these poor creatures being dragged alive by a hook on board a small boat. The shark was covered in blood and apparently died on the deck. No one on this forum as uttered one word of complaint. Sharks and the uglies of this world matter too.

Cheers, I think you misunderstood my post, I couldn't send an email through Hotmail but did send one through Yahoo.
Nichola, I'm sure you know what's what regarding permission.  However, when the Uzumlu Committee Watch held their first meeting they had to get permission from the jandarma?

Claire I stand corrected re permission for a meeting even if it is just an initial get together.

Better safe than sorry so this is in hand...
