Elaina whilst i have every sympathy with your plight i will not be goaded into something i dont want to do, i will eat where i want to eat and i can tell you without fear of conviction that i will or would not be ripped off by anybody in Turkey regarding land or house, we went through a reputable agent and it all came good as i said i have every sympathy for you but will not be patronised of ADVISED what to do by anyone.

Sorry Elaina, i missed part of your last post, i can say that i was not laughing at you, i really dont know where you got that from, certainly not from my posts, as i said i am very sympathetic to your plight but will not be coerced into anything by anybody as i have said previously it is only my opinion. I think you are very brave posting your plight and have posted it in the right place to let everbody know about this guy, but everbody are still entitled to there opinion which is the whole purpose of a forum.

Elaina, I am so sorry for the position you and your family find yourselves in.I think what people on this forum have to remember is that it could happen to anyone of us.I don't think anyone of us here have'nt been ripped off in one way or another.
We would do well to remember the phrase "There but for the grace of God, go I".

All I can say is "Enjoy your meals" and i hope it does not happen to you. The court will make their decision and this man wants me to lose everything but I am going to go down fighting and I am damn sure I will take him with me and i sincerely hope they will close this estasblishment down and he gets what he deserves but it is his country and I am therefore at a disadvantage and i know that. I have done all I can to reason with this man and it has come to nothing - plus I have paid £8k in court costs alone. I wanted to take early retirement and enjoy my place in the sun, as most of you do or have done but because of all this crap I will have to work until I am 71 so i will no doubt I will be pushing up the daisies before then. Can I therefore assume that because it does not affect you directly, that you will all be swimming with the dolphins then.   Anyway enjoy your meal while you can  - I am off to buy my hat for a certain Garden Party where I am hoping to be able to generate some support where i seem to have failed here. Thank you.

This establishment will not be getting my or our visitors support. As Elaina pointed out Turkey is full of hard-working decent people and it is ruined by the few intent on ripping off unsuspecting tourists. Uzumlu has many really good restaurants run by decent people. Why bother with those with shady reputations? I am impressed that despite her bad experience she can still see goodness in Turkey. Well done, it shows you are a survivor and not the victim of this greedy man.

Thank you for your support Rosy - it is much appreciated.  However i know there are some poeple out there who will do anything for a cheap Efes and i know his prices may be cheap at the moment but once he has eliminated the local competition (put the decent hardworking locals out of business) and lets face it he must be running at a loss at the moment - sprat to catch a mackerel so to speak - his prices will just shoot up and then everyone will be moaning.  Uzumlu is only a small place and they are all fighting for survival.  Thank you once again.

I only have some Turkish friends in Uzumlu and they have invited me there for a night out and have suggested his place. I have since pointed out your experience with him and my Turkish friends are utterly ashamed to hear this, and will no longer go there. I know that is not much comfort for you and the position you find yourself in, but good to know that at least one Turkish family I know in Uzumlu will now keep away.

It will ease your national conscience to learn I am not British
How me choosing not to get involved over some loverat/conman dispute between people I know nothing about, makes me an animal hater is beyond me.
