Yearly council house tax

My neighbour has just paid his yearly council tax for his villa and was charged double as the tapu is in joint names(his and his wifes).Has anyone else with their tapu in joint names come across this?

Yes - We were told when we bought years ago that the council tax would be cheaper if we had the tapu in one name.

Ours is in joint names and at £60 for both a year we think that's cheap. This is for 100 sqm in Fethiye

too many factors to take into account, when property was purchased, what price is declared on the Tapu etc

Our council tax this year was 60.00Tl 2 names on Tapu each paying 30TL  if only one of us was on the Tapu then the one name would pay 60TL  if there was 4 names on the Tapu each would pay 15TL.  

When we first purchased our council tax for the year was 9TL each! we even queried that!

Also I think garyo is in Koca Calis so it is a completely different belediye to Fethiye, so maybe Ciflik's rates are much higher.

We are in Koca and paid about 70ytl this year I think. That's for a 2 bed semi and in one name.

We are in Fethiye, and paid 78TL for a 70 square meter apartment. An increase of 38% on last year.

We are in Ovacik and paid 371tl, 117tl of that was for rubbish clearence don,t even have a bin.
