T.C. At it again with baggage charges
« on: September 09, 2010, 13:59:56 PM »
Coming back yesterday the couple next to us were one kilo over weight with one suitcase and they were told it would be £12.00. The T.C. Rep came over and took the guy to a desk to pay the charges.
Strange thing is, this time they did not weigh the hand luggage!
So watch out if you are coming back with T.C.  ;)

This happened to my husband last year and he had no hand luggage. It seems to me they just charge when it suits them, especially going from dalaman back.

Forgot to say there was at least 50 empty seats on our flight, so no need at all to charge for the 1 kilo of excess baggage.

I am sure I read somewhere that the check in staff get a bonus related to how much excess is paid?

We had the same thing on our return with Onur. Some people got stung by just being slightly over and some were lots over and had to pay even more.

Times are hard for the low cost airlines and they will make up the money wherever they can. Can't see it altering much short term.

I would not call T.C. a low cost airline.  Price for our two flight only tickets £655.00.  This is with no meals and no frills.  Also made the mistake of ordering two coffees (mud) and a small box of Pringles.. cost £5.90.   T.C. are totally rip off merchants.

Terms and conditions for each carrier state what is allowed and what the penalties are ...... as long as the scales at check in are accurate, there is no reason for complaint, really.
