Having spent a short time at the animal centre and seen what these wonderful people do for these poor little mites it is truly heartwarming but also heart breaking. I think they have the biggest hearts of anyone i have ever met .
Please help were ever you can it does make a difference.

I am sure if the you had some of these spring traps in Calis more cats could be rounded up to be spayed.  I would be willing to pick one up and put it at our place where there are always a couple of cats in the garden, but it's hard to get near them.

We have several of these at the shelter Jaqui that we use regularly but we do have to keep an eye on them as they go missing.

It's such a same that there are people around who want to steal these things, very sad.  Will keep in mind that you have them, as our garden is quite private so I would probably be able to round up some cats.

It's lovely and in good hands now, you all do a great job.  It seems to me that cats are on a much lower level in Turkey than dogs. There does not seem to be many Turkish people who have cats as pets.  Hope the "cat" profile can be raised there soon.

I know more people would help with the stray cat problem if they had transport. Is there any way the Uzumlu vet could hold a spaying/neutering surgery somewhere in Calis once a month? This could be advertised as a free service which may encourage more Turkish pet owners to attend and British etc to easily bring feral cats caught by them.

The shelter is in Catarlaric just out of Fethiye on the Uzumlu road, we have walked, ridden our bikes, caught the dolmus and take our scooter up there from Calis, its a long way before Uzumlu.

Still think more people would take you up on the neutering programme if there was something once a month,or less,
in Calis Tinks. Not everyone has transport or is as fit as you and your wife.
