Do you recline your seat or not ?

I don't recline.  I always hope the person in front will show me consideration and not recline.  I like the planes that have fixed seats because then I can relax knowing there wont be an issue.

Never. And those that do should be ashamed. It always amazes me that the majority who do, are of the shorter variety!! Why is that?

I did once when the chap in front of me did.  Wasn't bothered that he had as I simply thought well rather than smell the top of his head for the journey I will create the space by reclining. The guy behind me flew off the handle. I asked the chap in front if he would mind sitting back up - he didn't and all was good. I turned to the man behind me and told him he was very rude and that he might of considered simply requesting rather than effing and jeffing about it.

Well done GB.  Negotiation is the answer.

To add to your list Scunner.
Moaning passengers.  We returned from Turkey on Monday and had to land in Bulgaria as there was a sick passenger.
The majority of folk although they thought it was inconvenient took the attitude..it could be any of us.
Two moaning gits behind us moaned for the two hours we were on the ground.  At one point I heard them say that they should be getting told what was going on.  Thought it was obvious!!!!!!!
Some time later the captain informed us that the man had died on the way to hospital and they could not tell us till they got the family of the plane.
Sometimes it is inconvenient but compared to going home without husband or father what is two hours out of your life?

Only recline if person infront of me does and restricted space becomes an issue.

I once had the misfortune to sit in a seat, which every time I touched the back, went into the reclining position and just would not stay in the upright position. This upset the fellow behind who got most upset, threatened all manner of unpleasantness and suggested that I sit forward in my seat and not touch the back at all. Aye right for four and a half hours.

Equally as bad however are people who spread their elbows all over your side of the seat.

Oh and the total muppets in window seats who insist on undoing their seat belts the exact moment the plane touches the tarmac and stand up as though they wanted to get off right there and then. It never ceases to amaze me why they want to stand hunched up like Quasi Modo for ten minutes until it is their turn to disembark.

I only recline long haul - unless the person in front reclines AND the person behind me has reclined.

What I do do is make sure every time I get up that I make as much disturbance as possible to the person in front by grabbing the back of their seat - and if they recline during meal times they get told nicely to put their seat forward.

Interestingly - if anyone is flying long haul and not booked - Cathay Pacific have what they call 'Shell Seats' where you have your own personal space. The seats don't recline but slide forward from the front to replicate a 'recline'. Not quite the same but it does mean no seat back in your face for 12 hours! Not for the long legged people though - trust me on that one  :)

Definitely not, i was once on one of the back seats, they don't recline, so if the one at the front reclines and everyone follows, you are the only one that has the seat in your face, so they should all be fixed. Alan
