Thomas Cook Seat Booking
« on: June 09, 2011, 19:10:10 PM »
I recently booked my flights with FTC, went right through and paid then tried to reserve seats. It wouldnt let me.

Has anyone else booked their seats @ 7.50 each way per person ?  That will add another 30 quid on, do I just turn up and get what I am given ?

Comments please

Ron :)

Not sure, but think you can do it by going into Manage your Booking.

If you haven't booked an on board meal, then TC allocate your seats at the rear of the plane. So basically, you take what you are given

I must admit we usually pay for seat together as have been seperated in the past.  You could try turning up early to see if you can get seat together.

I always try to book ahead, you can do it on their website, it's in the same bit as API. People are pretty quick off the mark booking seats though, I did ours for September the other day, and the first 5 rows were full. The earliest you can book is 90 days ahead. I have only recently started to book my seats,I used to ask at the booking in desk, but then you take whats left.

I never pre book the seats. Most of the time in when I have asked at the check in for 4 seats in a row they have often told me they have already been reserved and we get 4 in a row? I cant bring myself to pay the extra I just think its a con. So far we have not been separated.

Agreed bewva - we refuse to pay more for seats that we have already paid for.  However, it's usually just the two of us (me and hubby) travelling and if we ever are separated it's not the end of the world, we can survive without each other for four hours!  I do realise though that it is different when you are a family travelling with children  and that you won't want to be separated which is of course what the airlines play on.

Nonsense, if the airlines want to put our kids in a different part of the plane to us, we'd be delighted :D

I was so grateful to be separated from my hubby and son on a long haul flight once.  They had been to Burger King and eaten the gherkins - enough said. :D:D
