Since you can't change Scottish money in Turkish banks, do Scottish banks actually accept lira?

Yes our Bank will accept Lira, however, we will not be changing our lira back, will keep it for next time as who knows what the Lira will be against the pound next year?

No relatives needed, if you went into any Natwest bank on Monday with 90tl you would have got £31.37 at an exchange rate of 2.8687.
today you would have got £31.26 for your 90tl at an exchange rate of 2.8790 think maybe you are confused by the buying rate and the selling rate.

On Monday the interbank rate for selling TL was £2.8192. So NatWest charged you 2.12%. I think that is pretty good - but then I never bring many lira back and hang on to the little I do, so I never use banks for this anyway. Perhaps 2% is more than other places?

Whoops, sorry, I noted down the wrong number. On Monday the interbank rate averaged 2.8217. So that means the NatWest charge was about 1.5/1.7% depending on exactly the time you converted.
