Aberdeen To Dalaman any weeks from May to September £1139.96 Flights from Glasgow to Dalaman same weeks for two people £447.96.
I don't mind paying a little extra to fly from Aberdeen but over double is totally ridiculous.:(
I feel like writing to someone to complaint but seems like T.C. are holding all the cards.
I wonder just how many people will book from Aberdeen next year[?]

It is a total rip off.  The prices substantially increased when Aegean Flights went bust.

I looked at Jet2 out of Glasgow for June and their prices are a lot more reasonable albeit not as convenient !

I agree with the point made by Jacqui Harvey about flights, which was the topic incidentally. For a long number of years,we have found that (staying near Glasgow)the cost of flights/holidays at the traditional Glasgow summer fortnight, shot up.It was cheaper if you had to go at that time flying from say Edinburgh.Supply and demand I thought at first, then greed, as parents with children had limited choice to go on holiday if they did not want to take children out of school so had to pay the price or move airport.Another point, slightly off topic, why do flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh for example, cost more than from England, which is farther away from North America, and flights from Scotland to Southern Europe and Turkey cost more from Scotland than England. So from Scottish airports it doesn't matter whether you are flying to a destination nearer or farther away than from England,it's always dearer.Disgraceful.

Same period next year with FTC to Dalaman. Basic prices for 2 people.

Birmingham      399.96
London Gatwick  415.96
Manchester      423.96
Glasgow         465.96
East Midland  1,133.96
Leeds         1,135.96
Newcastle     1,135.96

Fight time not taken into account.

You wouldn't need to be too savvy to get a week's all inclusive in the likes of Menorca or the Canaries for the price of those flights. Not for everyone I know but Turkey is fast looking far from the traditional value for money destination. I have never paid even close to the lowest price in H's list, and I definitely won't be.

For the record our flights to Malaga cost £145 all in return and our accommodation £800 for a fully appointed apartment for 10 days. £1380, or in context with this post, £220 cheaper than for just the flight to Dalaman, using the cheapest price quoted.

We were due to fly on Saturday to Turkey - yes, we now aren't going.  The equivalent flights from Birmingham were £700 each and considering Aegean have nearly £4000 of our money, we aren't going to Turkey.  We have booked a week all inclusive (yes, all inclusive!) for three of us to BENIDORM!  I know, I know....but hey, you wouldn't believe how excited our little one is to see where the programme was filmed!  This is over the bank holiday weekend as well!

So, to summarise as Scunner has, £2100 flight only to Turkey, £1200 all in to Spain.....need I say more......

Taking into account the price of our flights for next year at over a grand for the two of us. We could actually go to the States cheaper.  I think some of these Airlines are going to be sorry for these expensive flights to Turkey when they realise people are voting with their feet.
I am at a loss to understand why the huge difference in price between Glasgow and Aberdeen

The problem is that people will indeed vote with their feet and maybe for the first time in years, take a look at what alternatives are out there and book them. The the likes of Thomas Cook will cut back on flights to Turkey, citing "reduced demand" as the reason. What they fail to grasp is that the "reduced demand" they blame is true, their prices caused it.

My work colleague and 2 of his friends who have just returned from Ovacik, flew Easyjet from Manchester instead of going from Glasgow. Taking into account the petrol costs, he reckons he still saved just over £500 pounds flying from Manchester!
:D
