You will find that many Turkish people enjoy celebrating Christmas just as much as we do. If there is a party or festivities they will enjoy being invited or involved.

They celebrate New Year which is why they also have decorations up around the same time as us and you will find decorations in the shops about a week or so before Christmas; the selection available has grown over the years.

Enjoy  :)

We actually shipped our Christmas tree to Turkey, firm in the belief that it would be the last thing you would be able to buy in a Muslim country - then found a whole aisle at Migros full of trees and decorations.

There is a Xmas Fayre in Calis on the 4th December where you will be able to buy everything cards, lights, baubles, everything Xmas including mince pies and all Xmas goodies. Most of the stalls will be the local Turkish people who really get into it. The Xmas grotto queue will have at least 100 Turkish children in it so no they arent offended lol.xx

Sorry Jo, the Christmas Fayre is a once a year event & I'm afraid you'll also miss the car boot sale too as that's on 18th December. If you're still here on Boxing Day, you could always come down to the prom for the "Splash" or even take part!!
