Expat Private Health Insurance

I don't know anything about it really so please don't shoot the messenger  ;) - Staysure Insurance (coincidently the people who got Colwyn home when he had his heart problem in Turkey) tell me they have a private expat healthcare scheme. I have no idea what it would cost a Turkey expat or what it covers etc but here is a link for your perusal:

I have taken out long stay insurance with Staysure for next year - a 4 month - a 3 month and a 4 month and all the research I did on them came back with glowing reviews - certainly worth a look.

Only for UK residents with a UK address....

4. Can travel start outside of the UK? No travel must always commence from the UK (including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man).

7. Is Staysure insurance available to non-UK residents? No, all Staysure clients need a UK address. and should be registered with a UK doctor.

Hi - Firo is quite right about the "resident in the UK" so maybe Expat is just in the Eurozone - still odd though to use the phrase Expat - worth a call if it s of interest just to clarify?

We paid £120 + £90 + £120 for the 2 of us aged 60 & 50.
We do however continue to pay council tax - will se our doctors / dentists on trips home and until we are certain of our plans we are treating next year as a "gap year" :-)

I looked for an email address but couldn't see one.I agree that the heading they use is misleading as an expat is someone no longer resident in the UK.7
If anyone finds an email address let me know and I'll follow it up but I'm not prepared to phone the UK from here in Turkey.

Not at all Fi, you appear to have strayed from the Staysure Private Health Insurance for expats link given, and found the FAQ for basic UK Staysure Travel Insurance. Expat Private Health Insurance is obviously for people living abroad, and does not cover trips that start from outside the UK because it is health insurance not travel insurance - it has nothing to do with trips!

...and if Expat Travel Insurance is indeed something of interest: http://www.staysure.co.uk/overseas/travel-insurance/annual

Your comments on travel insurance are interesting too Ian. Any opinions on the private health insurance I posted about? :D

Can see that now but if you hit the contact us button on the front page then you'll see the F&Q note which is where I found those quotes so it's a fault of their system that doesn't link properly.
Apologies.....
On an aside, Eric had already contacted them and they just phoned so we will have more info with regards to pre existing conditions in the next few days. Based on our ages 55 & 56 with no pre existing conditions then full medical insurance with £100 excess was £300 per couple.
