vet problem
« on: January 20, 2012, 14:57:31 PM »
Hi everyone, my name is Jess and i live in the calis area. I would like people to know about my experiance with ANKAVET. i have 2 male boxer dogs which i put in to ANKAVET kennels for a period of 5 day thinking it would the best option for my dogs who are like our children. we left them with 6 kilos of dog biscuites and a large pan of meat food mix for them, also we rang them everyday to check and was informed they were fine. To our shock and horror when we returned and picked up our dogs I WAS ABSOLOUTLY MORTIFIED!! they were in the most discusting aweful state!!! my Fiance asked to see where they they had been kept but was refused. My dogs were filthy and smelled of urine and faeces. also they had lost a tremendous amount of weight to the point their ribs were starting to show! their tempremant had changed as though they had been badly treated and maybe even harmed. My Fiance who was furious then rang the vet to complain to which the vet didnt seem to care.... i was very very upset and it took my dogs about a week to start acting normal again. im not one to complain but i think this should be a warning to others who are concidering using that vet.

Sorry about your experience but thanks for the warning. And Scunner it's comments like yours that stop some people going on message boards.

My point exactly - been a member since 2003 and in all that time didn't share a single experience, tip, idea or story with us. This is not a "message board" as you call it, it is a discussion forum - not a place to finally head to when you have someone to slag off. People who make one post in 9 years as a member hardly need my comments to stop them posting do they!!!

Scunner, probably a lot of people use this website as a good source of information and rightly so, maybe they just look and dont participate, why is it such a crime?

And who do you suppose provides the information Janice1971 - could it possibly be the members.

Surely the website wouldn't existing if people did not participate

I'll probably get slated for this but here goes!

If everyone just "looked & didn't participate" as you suggest there would be no "source of information".

The op has been here for 9 years yet have found NOTHING TO SHARE THAT WOULD BE DESCRIBED AS "POSITIVE" for the other members as a good source of information yet finds a voice when something goes wrong, I think that's a poor show.

A discussion forum is about "information sharing".

Just my 2p worth, I am glad the member finally posted on here, just a shame it was such a negative post albeit 1 that MAY help others to change their minds about a service in the locality, rightly or wrongly.

Whilst I really feel for these dogs (I am a tue animal lover) does Scunner not have a bit of a point here?
We all try and share tips, flight bargains etc for all our fellow members where we can, if I had lived in Calis for a long old time I would have liked to help people guide people etc with the knowledge I would have gained over the years, I am not being disrespectful here to the dogs owners, sorry if my post upsets anyone but wanted to have my say. :)

I set up the website so people from all walks of life could exchange information, good and bad. People who see this as a place to come to just to bad mouth someone really don't fit the profile of a community member - having had 9 years of membership and contributed nothing till they decided to slate someone today. In nine years, never gave a reasuring answer to someone worried to death about something, shared an amusing Turkish tale or anything at all.

People should not see CBF as a place that you only have a use for when you want to write something that you know will (and perhaps intend to) harm someone's business or name - it is a place where you can help others by sharing positives and negatives of life. I listen to the people on here that praise the good and post the bad - to me someone who has not thought to post anything good in years then opens their account with a slating carries little or no weight in my book but may do in the book of others.

I promise you Janice, had this not been about a vet today, but about your cake shop a few years back as an example, you that you would be very much agreeing with me on this. It isn't, hence you aren't.
