But the highlight of the evening, which bought many of the committee near to tears,  was when five individuals, all who wish to remain anonymous, came up and gave us 100 TL each for the Bozalan project -  amazing - so another 500 TL to add to the running CBF total.

How good is that. Well done to those people. :)

How very generous, there are still good people out there, thank you to those kind people.....and also to the minority of the CBF members...

Where are we - less than a week in - and so far we went from a slow start to a very impressive fund raising in that time.

May I be so bold as to make a suggestion Keith  8)

Rather than try to allocate the "free" money that has been donated against the list (which will be quite complex and time consuming) maybe just write a list of all those who have donated  with their amounts next to their name and the total at the bottom.

We could then keep the list as it stands for new donors and perhaps the free money could go towards the cost of labour for fitting the toilets which I believe is a very pressing matter. I think you said we have the ceramics already.

What do you think [?]

I am also wondering do we have plumbers and people good at DIY in our little CBF community who could volunteer their skills and time to do this work...

It would make for great publicity to have photos of volunteers doing something hands on like this....

A wee idea (light bulb above head)

I have been involved in the shoe box appeal.
We bought big packs  of pens, rubbers etc and pencil cases.

We then made a pencil case for each box with all the bits they would need. Say four pencils, rubber, sharpener, ruler, felt tips or coloured pencils and so on.
As there are  only 30 children would it be feasible to do that so that every child has his or her OWN stuff.

I always loved a nice pencil case :-\ ;)

I spoke to my son about the plumbing and he says it's done differently in the U.K. to Turkey, but he said it would probably be easy enough to do it. Unfortunately, he is not out until September when he is getting married, but kindly said you can give him a shout if you still need work doing.. Don't know how his wife will feel about him plumbing on his Honeymoon, but I am sure she could take a day out to shop with her dear Mum in Law.

Didn't know you had a problem with your plumbing Keith  ;)

Fingers crossed on the toilets though - watch this space

And lovely warm feet for the kids - thanks Jactay.  It also means that they will be able to keep the new carpet clean, when we have raised enough to buy it  ;)

Was this a bad idea or did it get lost in the toilet humour thread???
