Football screens would be a huge turn off for me. Like Diverbaz, I HATE football. We stopped going to Mangal because of the football screens and the noise blaring out from them. If the "fun" pub is showing football, we will certainly not be going to it. I hope they haven't wasted an opportunity here as soooo many other places show football.

Toky - Mangal is one of our favourites and if they have a TV it's not near the street-side tables. Where is the TV ?

Agreed about the football, along with all the armchair experts and pundits, and the foul (if you'll pardon the pun) language that accompanies it, although I'm sure no one on here would behave in that manner!!   :)  ;)

I'm beginning to feel really sorry for the owners of this new venture. I mean if they read this how on earth are they going to get us miserable buggers to have fun ;)

Agreed, but what I am interested in hearing from them - or anyone - is what exactly they do there that makes it a "fun pub" in comparison to other  "pubs". In other words, why the name?

the strange thing is,  the word 'fun' when accompanied by 'pub', automatically aquires negative connotations, in complete contrast to it's actual meaning, and does conjure up the 'fun' to be had in Hisaronu, and other resorts that have been on TV recently

There are bars with TV screens. There are bars without. There are bars with entertainment and some with music playing. There are bars that are actually restaurants. There is actually some decent variety although it could do with a bit more. I don't recall seeing any that are specifically aimed at families with children although I think the bar owners do tend to make an effort with kids. Good luck to the new "fun" pub whatever one of those are. If they aim to cater to a niche then great!!

I earlier wished the owners well, as I do with all new businesses in Calis.

Sadly I must report that this topic has resulted in clear and direct threats to have CBF hacked and closed down. Specifically (amongst other threats) from one person "'time I closed this **** forum".

Will members please bear this in mind when choosing where to spend their hard earned lira. One thing this certainly isn't, is fun.
